Calais and David’s Four Season’s Las Vegas wedding was nothing short of completely unique and personalized. It was so exciting to see each part of the day unfold and how they had made it truly about the joining of two people.
Entering the suite where Calais and her family and bridesmaids got ready was evidence that this would be different than most weddings we’ve been to. They were not buzzing around searching for lost bobby pins and hair spray- this was a gathering of family and support for the bride as she had her makeup applied by one of the talented artists at Amelia C & Co.. Everyone would sit, chatting with Calais about the excitement to come intermixed with banter only mother’s, daughter’s and sister’s share.
When it was time to slip on her dress, Calais’s Mother assisted with the long sleeved, french lace Pnina Tornai gown and gushed about the gasps heard throughout Kleinfeld Bridal when she originally tried on the gown in the New York City store. Rightfully so, because she looked breathtaking.
While Calais was adorned with a birdcage veil and simple but elegant finishing touches David was tucked away with his best man, his father preparing for the ceremony as well. The two helped one another straighten their ties and smooth out their lapels. David donned a perfectly fit blue, Armani tux and classic bow tie. He was calm but I could see excitement building as he was minutes from seeing his bride.
Bride and groom were to first see one another as Calais stunned guests and David as she emerged down a candlelit aisle. Exchanging of vows was no ordinary “I do” of course… The couple listened to Angie of Peachy Keen Unions tell their unique love story from beginning to present day. Guests (and Photographers!) were drawn in waiting to hear the end of this love story… finally, the “I Do” and a kiss. The couple walked down the aisle as husband and wife after their hand tying was complete- pieces of cloth wrapped around their hands, each piece representing important parts of each of them, graduation cords, a tie worn on dates together and the like.
Completing the magical day was an intimate reception spilling with candles and florals by local florist, Layers of Lovely. Guests were treated to a six course dinner, signature cocktails, “Wellesly Lady” and “Harvard Wallbanger”, made to order donut bar, sketch artist and black jack table all coordinated by Green Orchid Events.
Although, beautiful to see this day was undoubtedly about more than florals and dresses. Each personalized aspect pointed back to Calais and David and the day marking the beginning of their lives together.
